Emenike's second half brace secures victory for Nigeria in Addis Ababa.

Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike's  two late goals in the second half was all the team needed to come out victorious in the first leg of FIFA World cup qualifiers play -offs in Addis Ababa this afternoon.

The first half started with the desperate Walyas Antelopes, hungry for a first World Cup appearance,  taking the game to the visitors. The Walyas desperation almost paid off in the 24th minutes if not for the timely intervention of Godfrey Obagbona who cleared away a goal bound ball.

At the 57th minutes in the second half,  the home boys got the long awaited goal by the foot of  Behailu Assefa.

Ten minutes later, at 68th minutes,  Nigeria equalised with  a thunder strike from outside the box by Emenike.

At the 89 minutes, Emenike was wrestled down inside the Ethiopian box by a defender handing Nigeria  a spot kick. The Fernarbahce striker comfortably coverted the spot kick giving Nigeria a deserved victory.

With the victory,  Nigeria now have a foot in Brazil with the other foot waiting to follow on the 16th November when Nigeria takes on Ethiopia for the second leg at the U.J Esuene stadium Calabar.
