CHAN: Ghana Edges Out Nigeria 4-1 On Penalties

The Black Stars of Ghana this evening edged out the Nigeria Super Eagles in the second semi finals game in the ongoing CAF African championship in South Africa.

The first half of the game ended with non of the teams scoring. The Ghanians played the game with every thing they had, conceding two yellow cards in the half.

The second half also ended in a goaless with Nigeria mounting all the pressures that the Ghanians Soaked. This half saw Ghana reduced to nine men. At this point Nigeria was expected to capitalise on the advantage but the second half also ended without a goal.

In the extra time, Nigeria made several attempts to score but could not find the back of the net in the two halves of the extra time. The game was to be decided on penalties after over 120 minutes.

In the penalties,  Ghana and Nigeria scored their first kicks each but Ghana scored their next three kicks, and Nigeria missed the next two by Solomon Kwanbe and Ugonna Uzochukwu respectively. The scoreline  ended 4-1 in favour of the Ghanians.

Ghana plays Libya in the finals on Sunday.
