Brazil Opens The World Cup With A 3-1 Win Over Croatia.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup host team began their World cup campaign on a positive track when they beat their first group opponents Croatia by 3-1.
The first goal of the tournament was an own goal scored by Mercelo for Croatia in the 11th minute of the first half. The Brazilians equalised in the 29th minute through a super strike from Neymar. The Brazilians came on the score sheet again in the 71 minutes when Fred was brought down inside the opponent's box and the spot kick brilliantly converted by Neymar.
Brazil got a third goal in the 90+1 minutes when Oscar picked a loose ball and made a superb solo effort and Slotted in the ball into the net.
