In the debate anchored by mostly presenters from African Independent Television and some newspaper columnists, and attended by only four aspirants from the numerous aspirants contesting for the governor's seat in the state, senator Chris Ngige distinguished himself from the others.
The aspirants in attendance were Senator Chris Ngige (APC), Dr Ifeanyi Ubah ( LP) Mr Willie Obiano (APGA) and Chinenye Ezeemo ( PPA).
During the debate which was characterised by indirect mudslingings, Senator Ngige gave a good account of himself. His calculated and articulated presentation of political manifesto drew interrupting chants of ONWA! ONWA!! ONWA!!! from the audience. In his closing remarks, he told the audience and viewer that he has not changed and he is still the Ngige that did it before and is even prepared to do more than before.
" Ndianambra I have not changed," he said " The Ngige that risked his life to give you good governance before is still the one standing here today. I loved you people and I love you more now. If you elect me as your leader, I will take you back to the good old days. Your primary and secondary schools children will have free education and University students will pay only 40,000 Naira as they paid in my first tenure as your governor. Your women and children will have free health care"
His articulation and eloquence were not only applauded by the audience but also by the other Aspirants who wasted no time to hook him in warm embrace and audible voicing of ' ONWA'.
The governorship election in Anambra state holds on the 16th of Novenber 2013.
