Real Madrid White Wash FC Schalke 04 1-6

Real Madrid FC of Spain on Wednesday night white washed their host Schalke 04 of Germany 1-6 in their first round of 16 champions league game.

Madrid's Karim Benzema opened the score sheet in the 13th minute of the first half. Later in the half Gareth Bale extended the lead in the 21st minute.

In the 52 minute of the second half,  Christiano Ronaldo made it three and five minutes later Benzema got his brace in the 57th minutes.

In the 69th minute Bale got his brace with goal number 5. Reigning World Footballer of the year made it goal number 6 and a brace for himself in the 89th minute.

In the first minute of the added time,  Klass -Jan Huntelaar got a consolation for his side.

This is the second game Real Madrid won against a German clubside in Germany out of 26 visits.

Galatasaray Forces Chelsea To A 1-1 Draw.

Chelsea fc of England was on Wednesday night held to a 1-1 draw in Istanbul by an optimistic Galatasaray side  in a UEFA champions league first round of 16 game.

Fernando Torres opened scoring for Chelsea from a first half counter attack where Cezar Azpilicueta crossed the ball for the Spaniard to jab into the net in the 9th minute. The first half ended 0-1 in favour of the visitors.

In the second half, Chelsea continues probing the Galatasaray defence looking for more goals but the home boys had the larger chunk of the possession from the start to finish.

In the 65th minute,  Galatasaray equalised when Aurelien Chedjou Volleyed a Wesley Sneijder's corner past helpless Petr Cech.

The game ended 1-1 with the visiting blues side returning to England with an away goal advantage. A goaless draw at Stamford Bridge will see them scaling into the next round of the champions league.

Actor Jide Kosoko Involved In Auto Crash.

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko was today, in the Alausa secretariat area, involved in an auto crash. According to eye witness account,  Kosoko who was driving in a white pickup van was negotiating a bend inwards ikeja shopping mall after the traffic lights had given him the green light when he lost control and jumped into the lawn ahead.

Though this witness could not say if the actor was in top speed, the extent of damage to his vehicle and the statue of Bola Ahmed Tinubu have an hand shake with an NYSC member suggested that he was moving with a speed that could be up to 50km/h.

The degree of injuries sustained by the actor could not be ascertained as at the time of publishing this report, but the actor noticeably was limping slightly as he was being escorted out of the scene by an official.

José Mourinho Won The Champions League At Inter With The Team I Built. ---Roberto Mancini

Galatasaray manager Roberto Mancini has pulled the lion by its tail by claiming that his Chelsea counterpart in Wednesdays UEFA champions league game in Istanbul, José 'The happy one' Mourinho won the 2010 Champions league glory with a team he (Mancini)  built.

Mancini was sacked From Inter in 2008 and Mourinho took over the team and led them to win the champions league in 2010.

When the Evening Standard asked the Italian if Mourinho has a better record at Inter than him, Mancini said:

"No. Mourinho won the champions league because he had a good team.

"He took a team that like Manchester City,  I had built. A team that had strong mentality.

"When I went to Inter, they played very bad football and we changed that. ......"

Mancini and Mourinho locks horns in a champions league encounter in Istanbul on Wednesday night and we hope to hear from 'The happy one'.

Oscar Pistorius Was Viewing Porn Sites The Night His Girlfriend Died.

Latest information from the Oscar Pistorius murder case is that investigators have found out that he was viewing pornographic images on his mobile phone the night his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp was shot and killed in his home.

Local media said the information leaked from investigation team. It said prosecutors wonder why a man who claims he was spending quality time with his girlfriend on Valentines day would be on several porn sites while she was with him. The action they say is in direct contrast of his claim.

Sunshine Stars FC Of Akure In A Ghastly Road Accident.

The players and officials of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure were on Friday involved in a ghastly road accident along Ijebu Ode - Ore express way.

Five players and four officials were reported to have sustained various degrees of injuries and have been hospitalised.

The team were returning from Ijebu Ode in Ogun state to Akure in Ondo state where they had camped in preparation for the 2014 Nigeria Professional Football ( NPF ) premier league season.

According to eye witness report, the team's 32 seater coaster bus rammed into an articulated Range Rover jeep on the border town between Ogun and Ondo states of Nigeria.

Several occupants of the bus were said to have sustained minor injuries except five players of the club who sustained serious injuries and have been hospitalised.

The accident was as a result of the road maintenance work on one side of the road, forcing vehicles to use the other road of the dual carriageway.

Muhammed Ali's Title Winning Gloves Auctioned For $874,213.

The boxing gloves worn by World's greatest boxer Muhammed Ali in 1964 in his title fight against Sunny Liston has been auctioned for $874,213, approximately 139 million Naira.

The gloves was auctioned by Heritages auctions almost 50 years after Ali won his first boxing title against Sunny Liston.

"Given the attention these received from media and fans all over the world,  and the spectacular price they achieved, it's clear that Ali is just as loved and respected today as he has ever been."  Said Chris Ivy director of sports collectibles at Heritage Auction.

New Nigerian Drivers Licence Acceptable In US And Europe-- FRSC

If the information emanating from the quarters of the Federal Road Safety Corps         ( FRSC ) that the upgraded Nigerian drivers licence is accepted in the US and Europe, then it is worth the stress Nigerians encounter to acquire one.

Speaking to News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN ), the Lagos state sector commander of the Road safety corps Mr Chidi Nkwonta said that the upgraded Nigerian national driver's license is accepted in 3 United States of America states, Washington DC, Califonia and Maryland.  It is also accepted in European countries like Germany, Turkey, Austria, Sweden, Poland, Spain and Switzerland.

He said that the Nigerian licence would be accepted for a period within which the bearer is expected to request and acquire the state's  or country's driver's licence.

Lagos State Government Moves Against Indecent Dressing.

The lagos state government today, began a war against indecent dressing by its female public civil servants in the state's ministries, Agencies and departments.

In a circular served  to the various government parastatals , issued by the head of service Mrs Josephine Williams, indecent dressing among the state government female public servants have been completely banned.

The decision was made as a result of worsening cases of indecent dressing among female government workers. The circular directed all Directors of Finance and Administrations ( DFA'S ) to immediately move against indecent dressing.

The government in the circular warned that it would begin to take drastic actions against those who flaunt the directives.

List of dress codes that should be avoided as indecent dressing is seen below:

* Skirts above knee level should not be worn by public servants.

* If a female public servant should wear trousers, such trousers should neither be tight nor revealing any sensitive part of their body and must be worn with a jacket.

* Gowns worn by female public servants must be of knee level,  moderate slit, not sleeveless and not body clinging.

* Native attires must be worn complete.

The government also directed that male public servants in the administrative cadre must wear suit and tie as professionals.

Man Put Girlfriend Up For Sale On EBay But Was Suprised By The Response.

Uk resident Shaun Coles wanted to play valentines joke, so he put his girlfriend of 6 years, Debbie Moran up for sale on eBay and was surprised to have over 50 people bidding to buy her.

According to yahoo news report, over 50 people made bids to buy Debbie but the highest bidder offered $1,181.00 . In the item description, Coles described Debbie as an 'Old woman' and went further to complain about her inability to do house work. Coles was surprised to see that people responded to the advert even though selling of human is against eBay policy.

"In all seriousness, I wouldn't sell her for anything. " Coles told ITV. Debbie did not take the incident serious as she said.

" It's just a joke that got out of hand. " She said on ITV.

As if the 1-5 loss of his team to Liverpool FC yesterday was not enough embarrassment, Arsenal football Club manager, Arsene Wenger was served An other dish of embarrassment when he Slipped and fell face down inside lime street station on Sunday morning as he left Liverpool clutching heavy luggage.

Manuel Pellegrini Criticises Jose Mourinho's 'Underdogs' Claims.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has criticised Jose Mourinho's continuous claims that Chelsea is the 2013/2014 season Premier League 'underdogs'. Mourinho who took over the Stamford Bridge side at start of the season from Rafael Benitez met a whole different team from what he left in 2006.

Mourinho believes that his team will remain in the development process until the end of the season. But Pellegrini refuse to agree with him according to Daily mail. Uk report.

Truck Laden With Sand Skids Off Marland Bridge, Lands On BRT Fast Lane.

A truck ladened  with sharp sand has been reported to have skidded off the Maryland bridge in Lagos Nigeria and landed on the Bus Rapid Transit ( BRT ) lane.

According to Channels Television report,  the incident occurred around 2.30 am on Thursday morning when the truck in question,  moving on a top speed lost control and  crashed into the barricades and fell down into the expressway bellow.

Although no life was lost in the accident, the truck damaged beyond repair, causing heavy vehicular traffic in the axis.

Mourinho's Chelsea Snatch Massive Victory Over Manchester City At The Etihad Stadium.

Branislav Ivanovic's 31st minutes strike was all Jose Mourinho needed to secure a deserved victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium Monday night.

The first half was going either ways in an already tensed game until Hazards shot that looked like he was trying to find Ramires was blocked in the 31st minute. The ball found Ivanovic who shot the ball into the net.

The rest of the game went on with the two sides trying to find the net. With City's intimidating strike force pressuring to score,  Chelsea did well in soaking all the pressures and tried to score through counter attacks.

CHAN 2014: Debutant Nigeria Super Eagles Clinch Bronze.

The Nigeria Super Eagles this afternoon defeated their Zimbabwean opponents 1-0 in a game played in Cape Town to clinch bronze medals in the CAF African championship which ended today in South Africa.

The game saw a Zimbabwean midfielder sent off in the first half after a dangerous tackle on Nigerian keeper. Even though the Nigerians played against a 10 man Zimbabwean side for most part of the match, the Eagles found it difficult to find the back of the net.

The winning goal came from the foot of Chinonso Obiozor in 82nd minutes,  giving the Nigerians a deserved victory.

Actor Emeka Ike Evicted From Business Premises By Court.

Actor Emeka Ike's school,  St Nicholas College, situated in Magodo, Lagos State, Nigeria was on Friday, 24th January 2014, sealed and possession taken by a Lagos high court.

According to a maestro media report, the school has been in one form of controversy to another since 2005 when it was established. It was gathered that the school business managed by the actor's wife gulped 200 millions Naira to setup.

The reasons why the school had been in court often times were, non payment of rent as at when due, non payment of staff salaries for up to 6 months, lack of maintenance on dilapidated structures, employment of unqualified teachers and incessant increments in school fees of students with nothing to show for it.

After years of litigation, the court finally ruled in favour of the owner of the structure in which the actor setup his school.

On the 24th of January, the court finally evicted the school  from the premises, carting away some valuable properties and leaving the rest in the street after sealing the premises.

Chelsea Signs Kurt Zouma From St Etienne

Chelsea Fc yesterday, ( Friday ) completed the signing of St Etienne of France central defender Kurt Zouma.

Reports from Chelsea official website says that the 19-year-old French central defender will remain with the French club on loan until the end of the season. The player has joined the blues on a five-and-a-half year contract.

This season, the 6ft 2 French under 21 player has made only 12 league appearances. In total he has made 52 appearances since joining  St Etienne in 2009 and turning professional in 2011 and has scored a total of 4 goals.

"He is another young Player that fits the profile of some chelsea signings in the past couple of years. " Mourinho told Newsmen at a press conference.
