West Bromwich Albiom have sacked head coach Steve Clarke as manager of the clubside. This decision and announcement was made after West Brom suffered a 0-1 defeat at Cardiff on Saturday.
The loss was their fourth in a row and has left them 2 points off the relegation zone.
"We have reluctantly came to the decision to relieve Steve of his duties after very careful considerations, " West Brom's technical director Richard Garlick said.
"It has been documented that we have not had the rub of the green in certain games this season but that does not cloud the generally disappointing points return during this calendar year, culminating in today's fourth successive defeat at Cardiff."
Joint - assistant head coach Keith Downing will now assume control of the first team affairs until a new full time appointment is made.
