The draws which held this evening in Brazil started with a minute applause for the departed former South African president Nelson Mandela whose image took over the screen as the audience stood clapping. He was shown clutching the 2010 edition of the world cup trophy.
At the end of the day, the teams were drawn into eight groups and this is how they stand:
Nigeria was drawn against a regular opponent Argentina in Group F alongside Iran and Bosnia - Herzegovina. This is the fourth time the two countries are drawn against each other in FIFA World Cup group stage, 1994, 2002, 2010 and 2014
