OJB Jezreel Returns After Successful Kidney Transplant, Praises Donor Wife.

Popular Nigerian music producer and singer OJB Jezreel who was recently flown to India to undergo a kidney transplant has returned to the country after a successful operation.

The sweetest part of the story is not that the transplant was successful but that the kidney was donated by his first wife who made up her mind in his dying minutes to give him one of her kidneys.

OJB had spent months undergoing dialysis treatments which costs not less than 25,000 Naira per treatment. He took two treatments a week until he was advised by doctors to increase to three times per week to prepare for a successful transplant which was then put at 15 million Naira. The money was to cover sourcing of kidney and other hospital requirements and then after operation maintenance. But this money was not easy to come by.

It took the magnanimity and vibrance of some players in the music industry and in the end, the governor of Rivers State to raise the money. But raising the money for kidney transplant was one thing but finding a donor was another. And time was ticking for OJB. That was when his first wife stepped in and volunteered to donate one of her own kidneys.

After the successful operation, OJB was full of praise and appreciation for the woman who went through hell to hand him back his life.

" She is a wonderful person because it is one thing if God is telling you to do something and another thing to do it. It takes a lot of courage to actually do it. Just as Jesus has made the water for Peter to walk on, Peter needed a lot of courage to take the step and that was what she did at the dying minutes,"

"Even when the doctor came to tell her that they would have to cut her all the way to the back and would have to remove a rib so they could have access to the kidney she still agreed to go through it. It takes courage to go through it, so, I will say she is a courageous woman."
